Review on Moroccan Oil

Hey guys,

It's Alice doing a review today as Millie is busy revising. We do joint posts normally and this is just a one off! This weekend after I finished lots of revision my mum took me to boots to get the Moroccan oil hair treatment. They didn't have it in boots so we went to my hairdressers and purchased it from there. I've wanted this treatment for a long time as I have tried it at my friends and the hairdresser always uses it when I go.

On the bottle and the box it came in it claims to 'immediately enhance manageability, shine and deliver long term conditioning' this appealed to me a lot as I have very dry, thick, curly and frizzy hair which is very hard to manage so it sounded perfect!

I have used this product only once at home but straight away has made my hair look shiney and has massively helped when straightening. It has made my hair seem thinner which I have loved - this is probably because it has reduced the frizz in my hair. It is very easy to use; all you do is apply a small amount throughout damp or dry hair and style it as usual! It cost £30.50 from my hairdressers but it might differ in price from other retailers. I personally love the smell it gives my hair but it might not be everyone's cup-of-tea. The only bad thing I would say about it is that it comes in a glass bottle and might easily smash if dropped.

In the past I have used he frizz-ease from John Frieda. I would say this comes in a more convienient bottle but runs out quicker as it is smaller. I also think it isn't as good as the Moroccan oil but this is my personal opinion! Frizz-ease is a lot cheaper so if you wanted a less expensive alternative I would recommend this but the results wouldn't be a good as the Moroccan oil.

Overall I highly recommend the Moroccan oil and think it is great if you are happy to spend the money on it!
Thanks for reading and I hope you liked this review!
Love you guys,

10 things... #1

Hey guys,

We have decided to start a new series called 10 things... where we will be talking about 10 things on a topic hopefully every week! We hope you enjoy it, and if you didn't understand what we just wrote, hopefully you will understand as you keep reading on! Let's go,

10 things that make us happy!

  1. Friends at school- they are always there to cheer us up and we have so many good memories, pretty much what makes school enjoyable every day!
  2. Twitter- we have made some great friends on twitter that are always there for us when we can't talk to anyone else and are good for late night talks and have the same interests as us!
  3. Food- Just food! No other words needed!
  4. Summer- even though we both love winter and wrapping up warm and cosy, we can't wait for summer and the hot weather to come (hopefully) and to get a nice tan! (I find that the weather affects my mood quite a lot and generally i am just happier in summer! Millie)
  5. Shopping- we just love having new cute outfits and new make-up to try out and wear (even though it does kind of make us bankrupt...)
  6. Blogging- we have loved blogging so far and all the new people we have met during the process has made it even more worthwhile! It is just like our own space to chat and no one will judge us!
  7. Cute movies- there's nothing like watching your favourite rom-com or disney movie to cheer you up or just make you even happier than you were. Our fave movie at the moment which you might already know if you read this tag we did is Frozen and it is good for the whole family!
  8. Music- those happy songs that make you hyped for everything but also those sad songs that are emotional (and usually make me an emotional wreck) but are just amazing
  9. Memories- this will sound cheesy, but all the memories we have with our friends make us really happy! They are the kind of things that really make you feel better on a bad day.. (too deep)
  10. YouTube- and of course we left the best thing til last! YOUTUBEE! We are both completely addicted to it and end up checking it at least every day, usually more! We are both so grateful for it as it has really helped us through some times. Zoe and Louise's 'Chummy Chatter' and Zoe's anxiety video were/are great, and we would both recommend them if you haven't seen them already if you are going through a hard time at the moment!
Thank you very much for reading, we hope you enjoy this series and we will be with you again tomorrow for one of our main posts!
We love you guys,

Smile- it's good for you

Hey guys,

We are so sorry we haven't posted on umm... About a month (oh god that's terrible) but we have both been really busy with school, tests, personal things and so haven't really had any time away from that! However we promise we will make it up to you and we have a few ideas! (But won't give it away... We want it to be a surprise) anyway today we thought we would do a bit of an update and just a quick message! So here goes:

We know that sometimes you can just have those days where you don't want to get out of bed, you don't want to go to school (if you still go), you don't want to do an activity etc. Believe us when we say that some (most) days that's us struggling to motivate ourselves! If you follow us on twitter you probably already know this! So today, I thought I would just tell you what I do to motivate myself when I'm stuck in a bit of rut:

1. Ask yourself whether this problem will matter in a years time! Will it matter If I haven't done my homework for tomorrow and I'm doing in the evening before or even the morning, will it my problem that I have tonight matter next year! And not gonna lie most the time the answer is no!
2. Talk to someone! Text a friend either saying I'm feeling rubbish and just need someone to talk to, or just say hey and start a conversation, it doesn't have to be about how you are feeling! Just talking will help and you never know they could be having just as bad an evening as you and you might be helping them out!
3. Listen to calm, quiet music! This clears your head and just takes you to another world really! This is a bit like my 5th point but probably just easier to get! You can probably just search on youtube relaxing playlist and it will come up with something calm and helpful! Equally as helpful for me is listening to your favourite song/band/album/singer! Mine at the moment is frozen! All the songs are amazing and the lyrics are actually amazing and really relatable!
4. I know this one sounds stupid but it really does help me! Search on the internet happy quotes or funny quotes or uplifting quotes or something like that then screenshot your faves and just read them! Not only will this help you in the future as well but just reading some good quotes can lift your spirits and be quite inspirational (cheesy)!
5. There are a few session kind of things that I listen to when I am stressed! 'Smiling mind' is an app you can get from the AppStore and it is amazing! At the beginning and end it asks you how you are feeling and almost every time I have felt so much better afterwards! There are sessions to progress and it just makes you feel happy and calm! Another I like is 'calm.com' recommended by Tanya Burr! This again is really relaxing and both of these really help with my anxiety and stress!
6. Smile! I know this sounds kinda stupid and basic but like I said in the title it helps sooo much!! Even if you are just forcing a smile it will make you feel so much better and eventually I even find myself naturally smiling or laughing that isn't fake of forced!
(7. This is a bit of a side point but if your problem has anything to do with friends or anything similar like you are angry with them, don't reply immediately! Wait until you are calm as when you are in an angry mindset you will most likely say things you don't mean and regret saying later on!)

So that is what I do when I am angry, stressed, unhappy or when my anxiety is building up! I think i just wanted to say that if you are happy that great but if you don't feel great then don't worry, it's normal to feel down! Talking to someone will always make you feel better but if you don't feel comfortable then just remember all my points above! Finally, a quote that is kind of like my 'motto' in life:

I really hope you find this post helpful and please comment below with any other ideas you have as I know they will be helpful for me and for lots of other people!
We love you lots and lots,
Alice and Millie <3 x

Naked 3 Palette Review

Hey guys,

We are so sorry that we didn't upload on Sunday last week (and that our talking Tuesdays post was late...) but we are both really busy, as we got lots of homework for the half-term holiday (guess we can't have expected any less :( ). Anyway back to today's blog. For my birthday (Millie) Alice and another friend from school got me the Naked 3 Palette from Urban Decay, so I thought I would do a review on it.

The packaging is pretty much the same as the other 2 naked palettes, and I really like it as it is quite elegant (?!) if that even makes sense. It is quite simple but I think that's what I like about it as it doesn't distract you from the actual product inside.

So onto the actual eye shadows themselves. I'm not really sure how to put into words how freaking amazing they are, because they are just that good! The palette itself is obviously quite expensive, around the £40 mark , so you can expect great things and believe me I was NOT disappointed. The eye shadow goes onto a brush super easily and it isn't like one of those eye shadows where it looks like its going to be amazing and pigmented until it gets onto your eyelid and then your just like what the hell happened there! No no, it is amazingly pigmented and so easy to blend. Most of the colours are shimmery but there are 3 out of 12 that are matte. They are all kind of rose goldy (apart from the darker colours) and I honestly don't think the pictures do the colours justice as they are all such beautiful colours and there is not one where I would be like "eww this colour is gross" and that's saying something as when it comes to eye shadow colours I am very picky, which is also why I don't have many...
Left to right- Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart

I use the middle colours, buzz, trick, burnout (mostly I use this colour) and sometimes dust, for my base coat, after I have put on primer, so just sweep those all over my lid going up to the crease. Then with the darker colours, so blackheart, darkside, mugshot, factory, liar an sometimes nooner, take it through my crease and to the end of my eyelid and blend that in so it is more subtle. Then with the lightest colours, so strange, dust and limit, I do a light cover over my brow bone and the corner of my eye, so the tear duct (I think that's what it's called?)
Sorry that the colours fade out as they get lighter! They were very similar to the shade of my skin (oh my god I am so pale) so are not very obvious but they are there!

My favourite combination (sorry I have no photo) at the moment is Burnout as my base coat, then Factory as my contouring colour, so in my crease and then strange just to make me look more awake, but it changes every few days as they are all such pretty colours!!!!!

The palette also comes with a handy double-sided brush. The bigger fluffier end is for the base coat and for blending and the smaller, tapered end, I use for the crease colour! Both brushes are really good quality, as are the eye shadows (don't think I actually said that) so it's a bit of an added bonus!

And if you thought it couldn't get better than this, you are so wrong! I got 4 primer potion pot kind of things (I have no idea how to describe them) with different primers in! I haven't used them yet as I am waiting for the right chance to, but I can't wait. They look amazing, and it was a nice surprise I found waiting in the box!

So that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed and feel urged to go out and buy it (maybe tomorrow though) because it honestly is worth the money. We are thinking about possibly doing a post where we show you some ideas, so you can actually see them in photos, rather than me just telling you what I like. We will be posting something during the week, but we aren't sure when yet and whether it will be a different series than what we were doing in February but we will keep you updated on our twitter @alittleblog23 ! Please follow us if you enjoyed reading this,

We love you lots

Be happy with who you are!

Hey guys

As we said we made this blog so we could talk about life not just beauty and fashion and we wanted to talk about something that has really effected us.

We have quite different body types and we were thinking about how people think you need to be size 0 to be beautiful or you need curves to be beautiful. The honest truth is these sayings aren't doing anything to help everyone as if curvy girls can love the curves why can't skinnier girls love the way the are? Surely it shouldn't matter what size you are or if you have curves when it comes to being beautiful. I know there is lot of things written about this now-a-days but it is becoming a serious issue to people we love and us ourselves so we thought we would write about it and we haven't really found anything that says what most teenage girls think about it.

Recently, in lessons at school we have been looking at what you need to do to be need to be a healthy size and other things like that - but to be honest it is doing nothing. Girls are coming out of the class and they start saying they need to go on a diet or lose weight and they don't (these will often be girls who have nothing but a 'perfect figure') and it is putting pressure on to other girls, who don't need to, to go on a diet as well.

People also are calling people 'skinny' a lot recently and it is often when they are saying someone is 'too skinny'. We do understand that it can be health damaging if someone purposely stops eating and they do become too skinny and need to put on weight but this isn't always the case. What if people are just naturally skinny and can't do anything about it? Some people do eat a lot more than others and still remain very skinny but it isn't there fault and they shouldn't be judged for it. You shouldn't judge people who are bigger than you either maybe they were once at a dangerous weight and have worked to put that weight on and are happy with the way they are. In other cases people are bigger and do want to lose weight but they want their friends to encourage them and not laugh or tell them off when they have a treat during trying to diet because maybe they just need a sugar boost. People deserve encouraging during a diet not people who stop them from eating certain foods because when people are trying to put on weight no one tells them they can't eat fruits or vegetables if they like eating them.

The honest truth is that we are sick of people judging you on what size you are or how much you weigh as it is getting ridiculous. Shops need to stop making only small dress sizes and this added to other things are making people have eating disorders or anxiety.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Sorry for the rant we just thought we would like to express our views in our blog. If you liked this please follow us!

Thanks guys,

Makeup Haul

Hey guys <3

So as it is half term we went on a big shopping trip to boots and superdrug! We might have ended up buying a lot..... Mostly lipsticks :)

Firstly I (Alice) bought two COLORBURST matte balm sticks from Revlon in colours 225- sultry and 230- complex. This might be one of my favourite buys of the day as it gives you soft lips and very bright colour!

I also bought the super stay 24 hour bold matte lipgloss from Maybelline. It gives you a really nice colour and it stays on your lips very well. I brought it in the colour 845 - hot brown.

I also bought one of the new nude lipsticks from Maybelline in the lightest shade 710 sultry sand. I love this as it gives you a really pigmented nude colour which is just an alternative to pink and red shades.

So that is mostly what alice bought, however we did buy some of the same stuff and that is later on. I (Millie) firstly bought this Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in the colour 'Juicy Papaya'. I won't say much as I have already raved about it loads, but I will say it is such a gorgeous colour, I might even prefer this colour to my other one 'Pink Lemonade', and is so moisturising!

I also bought L'Oreal's Infallible eye liner! It is a really thin pencil that you twist to get more, if that makes sense, and has a smudged on the end! I really like this because it goes onto your eyelid and waterline really easily, and an added bonus is that is it waterproof, so I love it even more!

This is Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation and I also love this! I mainly bought this as I needed a new foundation and I like to try new ones and so many people had raved about this, including Alice! I have only wore it once so far (yesterday at a party) so I can't give the most detailed review now, but from what I can tell from yesterday, it gives amazing coverage and is quite runny, so is very easy to blend! It also has a very handy pump!

So now for the things we both bought: more lipsticks!!!! Whoops :p this is the Bourjois Rouge Edition in   19 (Alice) and 09 (Millie). Obviously Bourjois is quite a nice brand so we had high hopes and we were not disappointed! They are extremely pigmented, and for both of us are a bit of a change since we normally go for lighter colours and these are quite bright! We will definitely be wearing these lots, as you can dress them up for the evening or wear them with a casual outfit in the daytime!

We also both bought Collection lasting Perfection concealer! It gives AMAZING coverage and makes it look like you aren't wearing that much make-up even though it does give you a flawless look! We both love it so much and cannot recommend it enough!

So that is it for this week, we really hope you enjoyed it, and if you did please follow us and comment! We'll be back on Tuesday as usual, and also we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has followed us on blogger or on bloglovin and on twitter! We love you all!

Bye guys <3 x
